Equinox Quintet perform a broad repertoire of original material, classic jazz pieces and personal arrangements of jazz standards. American jazz guitarist Peter Bernstein (Lou Donaldson, Diana Krall, Lonnie Smith, Eric Alexander,
Brad Mehldau) said of the band,

“...great playing and strong writing... They have forged their own musical
identities while addressing the roots of the music. This is a band that we will be hearing many great
things from in the future.”

Equinox Quintet is co-lead by New York City native, guitarist Dan Nicholas and double bassist Johnny
Daly, who hails from Dublin. Daly and Nicholas have worked extensively in a variety of different contexts
since 2003. Their last shows in Ireland took place in 2008, when a quartet version of the Equinox
project played the music of Thelonious Monk in an eight city - ten date tour.
