A most unusual treasure hunt through Dublin’s magnificent Botanic Gardens!

She is a druid, an expert in woody plants and possibly Ireland's only true tree whisperer. He is a man desperate to reveal the meaning of an old riddle set in the National Botanic Gardens. Will she be able to help him discover the whereabouts of an important family heirloom? Is he everything he seems? And can she really commune with trees?

In this fascinating, witty and heart-warming new play by Matthew Ralli (writer, director and qualified horticulturist!) the audience are introduced to some of the Garden's vast collection of trees as they follow the Tree Whisperer and her mysterious client on an arboreal adventure where secrets whisper through the leaves.

In 2021, in response to Covid restrictions on indoor venues, we presented a series of original new plays written especially for historic Dublin outdoor locations. The series was a phenomenal success with glowing reviews and enthusiastic audiences. The Irish Times Theatre Awards nominated the WALKABOUT series for a special Judges award and one of the plays was nominated for Best New Play. We even received an invitation to bring WALKABOUT to Áras an Uachtaráin! This year we are back with this brand new play in the extraordinary setting of the National Botanic Gardens

A promenade piece along level pathways with the final half of the show detouring onto lawned grass.
